> About me
My name is Sara Grinzato. I am an Art Historian and Art Restorer
I operate as a professional tour guide in Venice
(Italy) and the Veneto villas with special focus on curious visitors and connoisseurs.
I am pleased to guide families with kids, too.
After my post-lauream studies in Art History at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice and at the University of Padua besides some experiences abroad, I realised I am attracted by the material aspects of the art pieces and their conservation issues.
Therefore, I got my professional license as a restorer at the Venetian Institute for Cultural Heritage (IVBC), again in Venice. This dual path between Art History and Art Conservation
enabled me to deepen the artistic techniques and the modern conservation methodologies of the cultural heritage and the modern conservation methodologies of the cultural heritage.
The passion for my country and for the city of Venice has prompted me to research on particular themes, such as the Venetian painting of the XVIII century and the Venetian villas in the mainland countryside. I am authentically fond of museums and churches, too.
My professional experience
Since very young, I have worked for different museums
(e.g. the Civic Museums of Venice and some prestigious villas on the mainland) by designing and conducting educational activities
. Guiding a young public is one of the most stimulating challenges for me.
As an Art Historian and indipendent researcher, I love to study the Veneto art over the centuries, with special focus on painting and on the 18th century.
I own a restoration laboratory where I operate on oil paintings on canvas and polychromed wood sculptures.
I am member of some of the most important professional associations of tour guides, as Venezia Arte and Promoguide.
