The game of Marco Polo (2H)

Family activity around the area of Rialto and about the commercial life of Medieval Venice

The legendary Venetian explorer Marco Polo will take us around to discover the city of Venice, providing a lot of information about his wonderful travels to the East and his business.

How it works: The tour is an amusing and challenging game that starts at the Rialto bridge. Kids will be given a giant map and will have to paste stickers to complete it... and in the end find Marco Polo's house!

What it includes
- The Rialto area with its famous fish, fruit and vegetables' markets
- the gondola/traghetto across the Grand Canal
- Lots of commercial and historical characteristics of the area
- Several interesting buildings and churches like Santi Giovanni e Paolo
- The houses of the Polos

What kids will love: the beautiful map drawn by a local artist, to paste stickers, to listen to the history of the Rialto bridge, to see the fish market, to go by ferry gondola across the Grand Canal, to learn stories and legends about this famous explorer

What adults will love: to explore with different eyes the ancient commercial center of Venice, to get across the Grand Canal as the Venetians still do, to learn in depth about the history of Marco Polo
Duration: 2 hours
Price: from 200 €
Additional costs: the traghetto (2 € per person), which is the standing gondola that crosses the Gran Canal
